Get estimated monthly costs for your vehicle based on type, location, and storage method. Real market data, not guesswork.
The estimates above pull from real published rates across our directory, blended with regional market data to handle the cases where small-market pricing data is sparse. The model accounts for: vehicle category (boat, RV, car, motorcycle, etc.), storage class (outdoor, covered, indoor unheated, indoor heated, climate-controlled, dry stack, wet slip), regional cost-of-land multipliers (Florida coast, Southern California, NYC metro, Mountain West, etc.), and length-band tiers (short, mid-size, long, extra-long). The output is a range, not a single number, because facilities within the same market can vary 30-50% based on amenities, access hours, and security level.
Use the estimate as a starting budget, not a final quote. Always confirm pricing directly with the facility you are considering. Rates change seasonally (peaks October-March in snowbird states, April-September in Northeast/Midwest boat markets) and from year to year as new capacity comes online or shuts down. Our directory shows current published rates from facilities that have opted to share them publicly.
Storage facility quotes typically include the bay or slip rental and basic security. Common add-ons that show up on the actual bill: setup / admin fee ($25-200 one-time), insurance requirement ($10-50/month if you do not have your own coverage that meets the facility's minimum), winterization service ($150-500/year if you choose the facility's prep package), shrink-wrap ($300-800/year for boats), launch / haul-out fees ($300-800 each direction at marinas with dry-stack or seasonal haul-out), dump-station fees ($10-25 per use for RV facilities that meter dumping), electrical hookup ($25-75/month upcharge for 30A or 50A service on RVs), after-hours access fees at facilities that charge for non-business-hours entry, and late fees if payment slips past due. Read every line item of the contract before signing.
Annual prepay typically saves 5-15% off month-to-month rates. Off-season booking (book in July for the winter season) lets you lock in early-bird rates. Multi-year commitments save 10-20% if you are a steady customer. Combining services (storage + winterization + shrink-wrap as a package) usually beats pricing each separately by 10-20%. Multi-vehicle discounts apply if you store more than one vessel at the same facility. Longer-term contracts (12+ months) unlock better pricing than month-to-month flex.
Right-size the storage class. Most boaters who pay for indoor heated storage do not actually need it - their boat would do fine in a covered outdoor lot at half the price. Pay for the protection your specific vehicle and climate requires, not for the most expensive option by default. Climate-controlled is essential for collector cars valued over $30,000, but excessive for a 10-year-old daily-driver boat. Use the StowHelp filters to surface the right protection level for your situation.
